Lyrics:
I have a smile
Stretched from ear to ear
To see you walking down the road

We meet at the lights
I stare for a while
The world around disappears

Just you and me
On this island of hope
A breath between us could be miles

Let me surround you
My sea to your shore
Let me be the calm you seek

Oh and every time I'm close to you
There's too much I can't say
And you just walk away

And I forgot
To tell you
I love you
And the night's
Too long
And cold here
Without you
I grieve in my condition
For I cannot find the strength to say I need you so

Physical Description:
He's your typical good-looking jock figure, with dark blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He's about average height, standing around 5'11, with an athletic build.
His style of dress is usually "casual chic." His clothing is never wrinkled or messy, even when he's wearing jeans and a t-shirt, and he always looks perfectly put together, like he stepped out of a men's fashion magazine.
He's handsome, to say the least, and Tyler carries himself with the air of someone who knows it. There's no question in his appearance that he's an extremely confident and cocky young man.
Personal History:
Tyler has always had a bit of a charmed life. His parents are wealthy and he was blessed with a natural athletic grace. He was essentially born with a silver spoon in his mouth, the kind of guy who gets everything he ever really wants.
He was born in Seattle, but his parents picked up and moved to Chicago when he was 10, after his dad changed jobs. They put him right into private school when they arrived, which he didn't really mind at all. Tyler has always been easygoing and willing to go along with whatever his parents wanted. The public school system was simply unacceptable to his parents, who had the means to do better by him and didn't want to see him having to mingle with what they always saw as the lower class.
Tyler didn't necessarily see it that way. Despite how he's been raised, he actually tends to be friends with a variety of people and even though his high school girlfriend was pretty much the queen of their school and not necessarily the nicest person to some people, he tried to be friendly to a lot of different types.
Tyler missed Seattle a lot, of course. He left behind a best friend and a lot of other people, but he made friends pretty easily at his new school, too, and he really loved Chicago a lot. Besides, with his family's money, he was able to fly back anytime he wants to visit people.
He started playing basketball almost as soon as he was old enough to pick up a ball. He's kind of obsessed with the sport, really, The walls of his room are covered with posters of his favorite players and when it's off-season, he runs a fantasy league for his classmates.
Tyler was was on top of the world as he entered his senior year of high school. He was captain of the basketball team, dating the prettiest, most popular girl in school, life was good. His superficial world crashed around him, though, when he was cruelly dumped in front of the entire school right before spring break and just weeks before prom. Tyler was lost. He was hurt, he was angry.. he didn't know what to do.
Oddly enough, though, his ex's best friend was there for him. Lori listened to him whine, distracted him from his pain, and commiserated him when the same friend "dumped" her, too. No matter how the girl apologized later, Tyler and Lori felt betrayed and they began to bond over those feelings.
When Lori's own boyfriend suddenly dumped her a couple of weeks later, they pair continued to find solace in each other. Tyler asked her to attend their prom with him - "as friends" - now that they were both dateless and they worked to help one another through that tough time.
Somewhere along the way, the friendship turned physical. Neither of them meant for it to happen, but those benefits found their way into their friendship, doing even more to repair the wounds they were both suffering from in their hearts.
They spent a summer traveling the country - a spontaneous road trip to get away from it all - and somewhere along the way, Tyler found he'd started to fall for her. He kept silent, though, not mentioning his emotions to her, and they continued on as they had been doing.
The 2008-2009 school year finds him in his second year of college and Tyler is growing increasingly impatient with their casual arrangement. They both go on dates - flirt with others, go out with others, act just as they always have - but Tyler is slowly working up the courage to tell Lori that all he really wants is her.

Personality:
Tyler is actually a pretty nice guy. Growing up, a lot of people thought he was an ass, mainly because of who he was dating for the majority of his teenage life (and due to the fact that he can get swept up in his ego or hurling insults at people who annoy him), or that he's just your typical dumb jock with the cheerleader girlfriend. And he can be that, definitely, but he can also be a really good friend, an attentive and loving boyfriend, a loyal son.
Making his parents proud is really important to Tyler. So his being there for his friends and for his girlfriend when they need him. He isn't perfect, of course, and sometimes he gets too wrapped up in basketball and other boy things and neglects the people he cares about, but he really tries hard to be a good guy.
He's not usually quite as snobbish or mean as his high school sweetheart was, even if he has a bit of snobbery in him. He'd talk and be friendly to pretty much anyone, even the nerds or the unpopular kids, though that was mostly done away from the girl's watchful and controlling eye. He likes being loved by everyone, so he'll rarely be mean to someone's face, unless, of course, he's purposely trying to antagonize them.
Unfortunately, he also tends to believe whatever those close to him tell him and he was very susceptible to his former girlfriend's powers of persuasion, so if she told him a nasty lie about someone, he'd completely believed it and if she demanded he stop talking to someone, he tended to do that, too.
He's changed in the past few years, though. He's not exactly what you would call a nice guy, but it turns out that breaking up with him was just about the best thing his ex ever did for him. He's happier these days and he's even starting to learn to think for himself and make his own decisions, instead of always focusing on what other people want.
Tyler can be a snob, though, and he can still be a bit of a stubborn jackass. Certain kinds of people are just beneath him or just rub him the wrong way and he has no problem mocking them or doing his part to make their lives miserable.
